What is iConquerMS?
iConquerMS is a non-profit organization that allows people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) to share their health data, experiences, and ideas with researchers in order to help advance MS research. This is all done online from the comfort of your own home (or from your mobile device) and is completely private and secure. iConquerMS is a cause that I have been working with for a while now because I truly believe that it is an invaluable tool in the fight against MS. You see, when you sign up for iConquerMS, you will be asked to complete various short surveys (on average they take about 5 minutes each) that researchers will be able to review and use to get the answers they need for their research. All this data will allow researchers to spot patterns that may allow them to discover the cause of MS, better treatment options, and hopefully, the cure for MS!
We all know our own bodies better than anyone so we are the best people to ask questions about our health. That being said, iConquerMS also needs people who don’t have MS to join and participate in surveys in order to help serve as a sort of “control” in the data collected. This way researchers will be able to tell which survey answers are unique to people with MS and which answers aren’t. If you were to think of MS as a puzzle you could imagine all of the answers collected from these surveys as “puzzle pieces”. What if your answer to one of these simple questions was the missing piece to the puzzle that is MS? That is why I think you should take a few minutes to sign up for iConquerMS; the more people who sign up and participate in these surveys the more pieces there will be for MS researchers to use to try to solve this puzzle. So visit www.iconquerms.org to learn more about how you can help be part of the cure!
