Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS)

The Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) is basically used to measure a patient’s level of disability between 0 (no disability) and 10 (death). It was created in the 1950’s and refined in the 1980’s and has been used for the last 4 decades or so in almost every major clinical trial related to Multiple Sclerosis. The above image is very vague but the scale below is much more detailed and accurate so go by that one.
