My optic neuritis did involve pain, and complete blindness for 3 days. After 3 day dose of solumedrol, now my vision in the right eye is blurry, fuzzy, with no color. Last eye appointment, clarified the optic neuritis completely attacked and destroyed my optic nerve in my right eye! This was what lead to my DX!

Optic Neuritis was the first definite symptom for me. Vision was blurry, then lost complete vision in right eye for three days, with pain. Last eye appointment a year later, clarified ON had completely attacked and destroyed my optic nerve. Vision is now always blurry, only can make out outlines of items, no color vision at all in the right eye!!

  3. Wow… I have to ask, complete blindness, what is that like? Is it the stereotypical all black like people always imagine?

  4. Cathy Ough says:

Yes, 3 days into my ON I had no vision at all in my right eye. after the steroids, the vision came back with hopes of clarity, but not so much.

  5. Is it more clear now? I need glasses now because it is never clear on their own after a good ON attack :/
