A New Chapter, A Line in the Sand

Well I have said it before, this year has marked a new chapter in my life, and now I am realizing that it not only applies to my MS life but my personal life. So much is changing right now but I welcome the change, life is all about change, learning… I do not wish to be stuck inside a little bubble for the rest of my life, that’s how it has been so far, but it looks like that bubble is about to pop if it hasn’t already! I am glad for this!

I have a lot to say because like I said yesterday, I have a lot on my mind right now. It will takes me time to collect my thoughts and be able to express what I wish to express! One step at a time! But I will say this, my aunt and uncle got me the new Dragon speech recognition software and it is awesome! This is the first blog posting I’ve done with this new software and it works so much greater than what I used to have! Usually I would have given up by now due to all the spelling and grammar errors, but so far not one mistake! So I will finally be able to write what I really want to write about, I will be able to express myself again!

I’m still restricted by some other things in life so I have to keep a lot of what I want to say on the down low, but man can I not wait to share! That line means so much to me, that line is where my life turned around, I may not be where I want to be now, but I can finally see some hope again! I’m going to leave it at that for now, I will probably be posting a YouTube video later on as well, keep forgetting about that!

Oh yeah! I totally forgot the obvious! Since I have not had the best of luck with my MS, I feel that it’s time for a new course of treatment. I am certain that none of the disease modifying medications are going to help me, things are just progressing too fast! If I waste the next few years trying every single disease modifying medication they have out there I will endure too much permanent damage so I need to try something else before that happens! Stem cells! I am going to try to raise money to go to Panama and get a stem cell treatment done! I am not sure how I’m going to do it just yet, but I did set up a fundraising page last night which you can find by clicking here or by clicking the give forward image below! For now just try to spread the word because the more people I can get interested in my cause the better!

Thank you!

Have you considered Novantrone or getting yourself in a study? Campath seems an interesting option. And if you're going for risky, expensive treatments, why not go back on Tysabri? Why do you think none of the other DMDs will work?

I have never been on Tysabri and I just don't think they will do what they are supposed to do due to all my research I have done but that is a different story haha and remember, DMD's prevent more damage but stem cells fix what has been damaged already so the hope would be to get a good baseline back you know?

Matt, I think you are on the right track with stem cells. I've read Judi's blog and did some research. In my case, if and when I win the lottery *grin*, we'll all be getting stem cell treatment, including my husband. They have a little different method than what they do for MS, but it specifically mentioned cerebral palsy. It's very exciting and perhaps someday the US will become enlightened and allow us to get treatment locally.

Yeeeeah let's just win the lotto like, NOW. They are using stem cells to treat EVERYTHING it seems so I would start saving for you and your husband NOW because this is YOUR LIFE!
