Progress Update: Am I Getting Better or Worse?

PhotobucketOk so I am getting kind of frustrated here because I can’t tell if I am getting better or worse… In my last post I mentioned the Lhermitte’s Sign I am dealing with (which by the way, I have felt in my spine a few times since yesterday) but I have also been noticing some balance issues. To be quite honest I have been playing the denial card but now I have to accept that my balance is definitely acting up right now, in fact, since yesterday I have noticed several times that my foot (left I think) has dragged a couple of times throughout the day… An all too familiar symptom of the beginning of my first exacerbation. I am not sure what this means but it sure is frustrating me…

It really makes no sense since I have been eating healthier in the last week or two and have been taking it easy physically. I also have eliminated quiet a few “stressors” from my life so what the heck? Why am I not feeling better? I am going to push the dieting a little harder and see if that helps, I am actually going to try some fish soon… Omega-3 fatty acids… A powerful anti-inflammatory agent so I hear… Not looking forward to it but who knows, maybe it won’t be that bad. I am going with Salmon for those of you wondering…

    Hey Matt,
Sorry to hear you are feeling bad. MS symptoms can change day to day, week to week, and even hour to hour. And most of the time, MS makes no sense at all.

The return of your previous symptoms may not be a sign of a relapse, but rather a temporary worsening of symptoms, due to causes other than new lesions, like an infection, being overheated, or overdoing things.

Are you following an MS Diet? I am using the SWANK diet for MS. Although I don't believe a particular diet will halt the progression of MS, I do feel better when I stick to the SWANK. If you don't like fish, you could use a Omega-3 supplement.

Hope things improve for you soon.

    Cheers

    Hi,
I was bed driven for a few days because of fever. I'm getting better now.
The idea of YoungMS is brilliant. Did you send it to MSIF? It's the global organization of MS with readers/followers from all over the world. I think all young MSers will be appreciated to find a place for them.
As for MS Vietnam, can you send me a copy of your letter to the drug manufacturers? I'd like to post in on the website too. It turns out there're many MS patients in Vietnam than I thought. I haven't officially launched the web yet, but 5 of them already contacted me. Among them, 2 are teenagers. Can not believe it, we're abandoned by the whole medical system here.
I wish you will get better soon Matt.Don't push yourself too much, ok?

@Karen: I actually HAVE BEEN relapsing but then I was getting way better and then all of a sudden just a few symptoms that's weren't even an issue at first popped up so I don't know…

But I currently revolve around an anti-inflammatory diet and I do take Omega-3 supplements I ust figured eating something more fresh might be better.

@Mai Khac: Im glad your getting better, I have never even hear of MSIF, I will look into them tomorrow, too tired tonight lol… I can definitely send you a copy of the letter, it's nothing fancy, just "bait" so to say. Got to see what they will say to some basic questions before I can get all fancy on them :^b. Send me at email to Mattalleng@yahoo.com so I can send it as a response.
